International Prize for Performance

| The Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea di Trento, in collaboration with drodesera>centrale fies, with the support the of the Foundation Cassa
di Risparmio of Trento e Rovereto, announces the
International Prize for Performance.
All artists of all nationalities and origins younger than thirty-five years of age, are invited to participate by completing the electronic application located on the Galleria Civica di Arte Contemporanea's website by August 1th, 2005 (see www.workartonline.net; or directly send to performance@galleriacivica.it).
Twelve finalists will be chosen by an international jury that will gather at the Centrale di Fies (Dro, Trento) on September 9th and 10th, 2005, in which the competing performances will be represented and the prize of five thousand (5,000) euros will be assigned, together with other minor awards.
The jury will be composed of a host of experts in the field, such as Renato Barilli (art critic), Mathias Lilienthal (Hebbel Theater, Berlin),
Andrea Lissoni (Xing Association), Virgilio Sieni (dance company Virgilio Sieni), Barbara Boninsegna (drodeseracentrale fies), Fabio Cavallucci (Director
of the Galleria Civica), also the "Mother of All Performances", Marina Abramovic, curator of La Galleria dell'Amore currently exhibiting at
the Galleria Civica, that will frame the Prize during the summer.
Four of the twelve finalists will be chosen through a privileged access road, dedicated to residents of Trentino “ Alto Adige, Veneto,
Friuli “ Venezia Giulia, Lombardia, Emilia Romagna, Austrian Tyrol.
These artists can directly participate by realizing a performance at the Galleria
Civica, inside the spaces furnished for the exhibition La Galleria dell'Amore.
